warning: there be spoilers ahead, this is Raama's extended more thought out background and there will be spoilers. If you don't want to read them then turn back now.
note: There is one aspect of Raama's past that I am VERY unsure about, if you have an opinions on the matter, please be sure to let me know. I'd love some outside say about the matter, your two cents matter to me!

extended background: ..... crap, lost my will to write this now. Will be coming shortly xD;

additional notes:
. will Raama know of this early on? She'll get the jist of the story when a child as the story is one of chirigami's favorites, coming second to Lilo and Stitch. So, she'll be familiar with the story and know she's apart of it when the Cheshire Cat decides to come often.
. Tangent and Intangent. these are terms adopted by the Cheshire Cat to describe dreams and real people, it was better choice of wording to him since to him dreams aren't really made up things. The rest of Wonderland, and a few other dreamworlds, adopted these as well.
. I have most of her quests thought out really xD; And in some ways, unsure if I would want her to become ancient, to me if she did.. she would not be apart of 'our' world any more but return to Wonderland... unless I figure out a way for her to easily go back and forth besides just falling asleep; I think she would be exhausted so much if her mind was kept awake all day and night.
. names. Names can hold a certain power, if you know the name of something then you can at times control it - look at animals. People are afraid of the unknown and uncertain, but if you learn names and about these things, you can turn the fear around and accept things. Ideas and imagination comes from somewhere, dreams for one, but they are nothing but floating spects of thought until you grasp onto it and give it a name and something more, something with substance. [ this is something that the Cheshire Cat would explain to Raama at some point; to explain that even though they're not tangible creatures.. they exist somewhere but were just not given much substance aside from what they built up themselves. It wasn't until Lewis Carrol realized their existance that they were given more life ]. There is also the concept in Lagoon Engine that when you learn the true name of something, then you can defeat your foe [ I'm not using this idea, but it was a cute little tidbit to add on ].

the baku
should put a section to even explain the thing
.Well, the baku is a creature from japanese and chinese mythology. It is seen as a dream eaters, pictured as a chimera with different animal aspects [tails of cows, feet of tigers, pig parts.. that sort of things] and are seen as good spirits; though sometimes also seen as bad... Japanese mythology is often weird in my opinion. They were often called upon by woken humans, or even without summons to come and vanquish the nightmares of restless and troubled humans. Sometimes, changing the eaten dream to good luck.
. so, now you can see how I thought it could make sense in the story and also, why it somewhat doesn't even fit. It's a bothersome little idea, I'd like to keep it but I dunno.
. so where the hell did I get this idea? I had it near since the beginning of writing up Raama's concept. I had looked through Japanese mythology - hi, thanks to the anime obsession - and remembered when I settled on the Jabberwock. AHA, reason! The idea also grew because when the second writing concept came around, it was the baku I was going to go with as my angle instead of the Jabberwock since stories were not allowed to be used. She was still going to be the exact same - so basically having two deaths, poor thing - still more Jabberwock but also had the baku aspect of her. But then that got too much like Yani - with the combined souls - and was another reason I didn't enter besides the obvious being having Taima.
. Bringing back to Yani, I also thought the idea of the Jabberwock consuming the baku was a bit too much like our beloved deer Fa'e and having the thing affect her, yeah.. too much. I tried to tone it down, took off the markings that would be left by it and only made it to be affecting her mentally; it causes an imbalance in her head due to the power of the creature she consumed - they were both 'good' creatures in the beginning, and thus is made things worse. Besides thinking of another idea to coincide along with the whole aspect of her world to begin with, which made it too many ideas thrown together in a jumbled mess.
. So what would the Baku actually do to her? Nothing really besides making her mentally unstable and giving her minimal markings - too much good energy making her actually bad and crazy-ish? She wasn't going to have to go on a whirlwind adventure to confront the collective of baku for what she had done - she didn't kill anyone important, as there didn't seem to be a queen-bee after all - nor was she going to have the chance to become one, regain any throne/position of one and nor obtain any of the powers or further features of one, as she has most of them on her own except the whole dream eating thing. It was... just there, which lead to.. why not just take it out?
